The stroke workbook was designed to help patients and carers “take control” of their recovery by working with the multidisciplinary stroke team to maximise their recovery. A self management programme which is currently being updated along with facilitator training.
Based on ongoing research, tested in a randomised controlled trial and informed by patients and carers this workbook is recommended in 'The Better Heart Disease and Stroke Care Action Plan’ Scottish Govt 2009.
