The Heart Manual International Developments & Collaboration
The Heart Manual has been adopted by many countries across the world including, Ireland, Holland, Canada and Cayman.
Since 2004 the Heart Manual team has continued to collaborate with the Healthy Heart Society of British Columbia, Canada who has adopted the programme for use in their area. The Heart Manual team will continue to provide support during the evaluation period of the Canadianised Manual.
Use is being extended from British Columbia to include Eastern Canada. To facilitate this, a training the trainers course was provided in November 2008. This will enable experienced Heart Manual facilitators to extend the use of the Manual throughout a wider radius. The Canadian team is also keen to implement the Coronary Artery Disease 4th Edition and are Canadianising this edition. Existing facilitators will embrace the cross-training package enabling them to use the 4th edition.
